Sunday 4 August

We had a really busy evening!

We started by praying for Christians in Syria and taking up a collection to support a Christian family there.  Our prayers and giving were inspired by watching this film:  Open Doors, Save Syria

We then enjoyed cookies, cakes and conversation. Some were unhappy that we did not share a main meal together and if anyone has any thoughts about food at Vitalise, please do share them with Deborah.

Alice talked about leadership and the humble, servant leadership of Jesus. We reflected on various Bible verses which illustrated Jesus’ humanity, humility and obedience to God the Father. Sammy led our prayers creatively and people had the opportunity to pray, be silent or just agree with the prayers of others. Sung worship was led by Matt and Joe who had a busy evening linking the various parts of the service!

Rev Phil Robertson (the vicar of St Jude’s Church) joined us and led us in our celebration of communion.
