Sunday 1 September

Our theme was justice and righteousness on Sunday.  We thought about the parable of the sheep and goats from Matthew 25 and while we shared the most wonderful selection and quantity of cakes we read newspaper articles about slavery in the UK and prayed about justice and righteousness.

We were joined by John Tooms who told us about his faith particularly in the context of work and the value and importance of prayer in his life. Hope was courageous and brave in sharing her testimony.

Revd David Wright (Rector of St Peter’s Collegiate Church) joined us to celebrate Eucharist.

We are grateful to everyone who provided cakes and helped set up, serve and clear up. We are grateful to our wonderful musicians. We are grateful to the Rayner family who joined us as we said goodbye to Peter, who goes to the US for two years.

Finally, thank you to all who contributed to our collection for Syria we raised £70.01 and so can send another £70 relief parcel to help a family in Syria!
