Sunday 25 November

We were delighted to welcome Revd Philip Swan, who is the Lichfield Diocese Director of World Mission. He told us about the St Chad’s Volunteer Programme. It was a pleasure to be joined by Wai Theng who is a volunteer working at Shrewsbury Abbey from Malaysia and currently part of the St Chad’s Volunteer Programme.

Wai Theng told us about her working life in Malaysia and her life as a volunteer in the UK. Her reflections on the differences between churches here and there were thought provoking and interesting.

We prayed using rice which we weighed with one grain of rice representing one person. We were shocked at “sight” of some of the statistics and grateful for opportunities to pray.
