We gathered to recall the events of Palm Sunday. Our sung worship was led by Tom, Aaron and Nat.
Hannah led our prayers and we thought about Human Trafficking. We prayed for everyone involved and for release for those who are not free. We said our prayers outloud in small groups to the beat of a drum.
Matt Marples led us through the events of the first Palm Sunday and unpacked the story with reference to both the Old Testament and the social and economic situation at the time of Jesus. We were challenged to think differently about the Kingdom of God, to reflect on the humility of Jesus as King and to remember how Jesus challenged the expectations of his disciples who were hoping for a different sort of kingdom.
This was our last Sunday meeting at Church @ Broad Street. We are so very grateful to the congregation there and at Tabernacle Baptist Church for making us so very welcome. From next Sunday we meet at St John’s in the Square.
“You are good and Your love endures forever.”
