The God at Work Group is for those who are in full time work or education. The group meets fortnightly on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm. We take it in turns to host the group in our homes and start with bring and share food before turning to discussion and prayer for each other. We work through a book together and this shapes our discussions.
We will be reading Dethroning Mammon – the Diocese’s recommended Lent Book from the end of February.
The group has reformed after a break of about 18 months. You will find information about what we did during our first couple of years below. Please use this link to get in touch if you have any questions or would like to be kept up to date with information now that the group has restarted!
In September 2013 we started a group which meet fortnightly on a Tuesday evening in the Lock Works Cafe at the Lighthouse. The group was to enable those who work to explore issues of faith specifically in the context of the workplace. We were made very welcome by the Lighthouse who kindly publicised our meetings in the mailings which they sent to their customers.
In March 2014 looked at Ten at Work by John Parmiter and giving thought to whether, and if so, how, the Ten Commandments apply to the modern workplace.
During the Autumn we have been reading and discussing Fruitfulness on the Frontline by Mark Greene.
From February 2015 we read Paul Valler’s book Get a Life.
